Introduction
Whilst the war in Europe was seen as the main theatre of operations the war in the Far East, often referred to as "The Forgotten War" and continuing for months after the war in Europe ended, had more of a direct impact on serving men and their families from this area.
This year we have decided to plant a commemorative bed on The Pound as a mark of our appreciation of their service.
Progress to Date

Sunday 6th July 2008
A significant crowd assembled at 2.00 on this Sunday afternoon to participate in the dedication of this new feature on the Pound. The FEPOW badge is reproduced in flowers and the rest of the bed planted with plants selected by members of the association to reflect those they knew in the Far East.
A permanent representation of the badge, designed by Tom Green, will be installed in 2009 and dedicated at 2.00 on Sunday 19th July 2009.
If you wish to contribute to this project, perhaps by sharing memories or offering a suggestion for appropriate planting, please either email the webmaster at: pottingshed@filby-in-bloom.org.uk or telephone Adrian on 01493 369250
We look forward to hearing from you.
This page will be updated to record progress.
