Introduction
The Green Village Initiative is a partnership between the Filby in Bloom team on behalf of the village, DEFRA and Energy Saving Trust to reduce the energy our community uses, and therefore its carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions, by 20%, as well as our energy bills.
It is our contribution towards combatting climate change.
Section 20 of the Climate Change and Sustainability Energy Act 2006 gives Parish Councils and community councils, such as Filby in Bloom, powers in relation to local energy saving measures.
The relevant extract will be posted shortly.

The Filby Energy Roadshow
The Filby Energy Roadshow took place in the Clubroom on Saturday 19 January 2008.
It is the opening public phase of the Green Village Initiative in conjunction with DEFRA and Energy Plus and hosted by EAGA.
It is a scheme to help Filby reduce its carbon emissions as a community and perhaps save residents money on their energy bills.
This open event was attended by about 50 people from Filby and surrounding parishes.
